2001-05-13 - 7:02 p.m. I had the strangest dream last night. It all started with a mini-Vassar reunion at this strange resort type place on the water. I’ve dreamt of the place before—I always seem to dream of the same places. Even if the plot/characters are different, if my dream takes place in a house, it usually is the same house; at a mall, same mall; at a resort, this place. Whenever I’m on vacation in my dream – skiing or snorkeling, this place is the destination. Anyway—so we’re there for a reunion. Everyone that I’m friends with from Vassar is there. We’re all sleeping in the same room. We go out to a bar…Swerdloff stays in the room because he’s tired or something. Brian G. is there—which is a bit odd, since I’ve never really hung out with him, save one happy hour at D.B.A. with Swerdloff. This is where the dream gets odd. Brian is dating a girl I went to high school with—a girl I was never really friends with (she was a “cool” kid). She’s there, and I’m strangely jealous. As the dream progresses and we move from the inside bar to the outside grassy area (picture expensive wedding reception type event). And Brian and I start to get, er, comfortable with each other as more drinks are consumed. So, he’s all psyched cuz he continues to get action from two girls during the entire time. He ends up “choosing” my high school friend over me. Ah well. There were parts of the dream when I specifically said to myself “God, this is trippy—I can’t wait to wake up and tell Swerdloff”. **** I went to brunch today with an old friend. I was worried about this meeting, for our last time together was not the happiest. But today wasn’t that bad. I wasn’t completely myself, guarded, as I’m sure he was as well. We’ll see what happens…I’ll see him again, and see if his “good behavior” continues, and it seems like he’s really changed for the better, great. If he regresses backwards, then buh-bye. **** My parents are in North Carolina this week. Before they left, they charged me with the task of taping all of their shows that are ending this week. My mom was so exasperated that the season endings are all this week…the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to television addiction. They’re going away for a week to learn watercoloring and Celtic myths, and the first thing my mom is going to ask the program leaders is “do you have a television?” I love them.
